1. Introduction

PayPal is an online payment system that makes paying for things online and sending and receiving money safe and secure. Paypal is available in more than 200 countries/regions and supports 25 currencies. If you are selling your product internationally, Paypal allows you to send and receive payments easily over borders and language barriers.

📌Note: Make sure you have signed up for an account with PayPal. If you do not have an account yet, may proceed to sign up here

📌General payment gateway setup:

  • Go to Settings > Payments to set up payment methods.
  • For online payment gateway checkout, customers must click Place Order first before being redirected to the payment gateway to complete payment.
  • The order is created in the system once the customer clicks Place Order, even if the payment later fails or is not completed.
  • If payment is successful, the order status in Orders > All Orders will update to Paid.
  • If the order status remains Pending for gateway payments such as iPay88, check the payment status directly with the payment gateway provider.
  • If a customer cannot proceed to payment or is redirected back unexpectedly, first confirm whether the issue happens to all customers or only certain customers.
  • If only certain customers are affected, ask for the exact product, checkout address, and if possible a screenshot or screen recording so the issue can be replicated.
  • If merchants can still access the payment page from a test order, ask the payment gateway provider to verify whether there were changes to the merchant credentials or gateway settings, such as Merchant Code, Merchant Key, Verify Key, Callback URL, or transaction limits.
  • Some customer-side security software, such as antivirus, may block the payment request. Ask the customer to temporarily disable the antivirus and try again to confirm.
  • Multiple payment gateways can be enabled at the same time, so buyers can choose their preferred payment method during checkout.
  • SiteGiant currently integrates with major Malaysian payment gateways, including: Adaptis (iPay88/eGHL), Fiuu, SenangPay, Billplz, Atome, Stripe, PayPal, TNG, GrabPay, DuitNow, and more.
  • Custom payment gateway integration requires the SiteGiant Ultimate plan (or above) along with the Open API plugin. New integrations are subject to internal review and demand evaluation before implementation.
  • It is not possible to send a direct payment link to a customer for a manually created order. For manual orders, customers can be asked to make payment via bank transfer or DuitNow QR.
  • Each payment gateway can only be set up once. If a minimum spend is configured on a payment method for specific customer groups, customers outside those groups will not see that payment option at checkout.
