What should I do if my stock quantity changes to zero unexpectedly?

If your stock unexpectedly drops to zero or goes negative, there are a few common causes to investigate:

  1. Overselling due to sync delay – If two or more orders are placed within a very short time window (e.g., 1 minutes apart), the system may not sync inventory fast enough to prevent both orders from going through. This can cause sellable stock to drop below zero. To reduce this risk, set a Reserved Stock buffer so there is always a safety margin. See: How to set reserved stock for local inventory
  2. Orders consuming all available stock – Stock may have been legitimately deducted by fulfilled orders since the last stock-in. Check Edit Inventory Item > Stock Movement to review what orders or adjustments caused the deduction.
  3. Incorrect update method – Always update stock from within SiteGiant (via Stock In or Stock Adjustment), not directly from the marketplace Seller Centre. Updating directly in the Seller Centre can cause the values to be overwritten when SiteGiant next syncs. Refer to: How to Stock In and How to perform Inventory Adjustment
  4. Update stock button not enabled – If the stock is not syncing to Shopee at all, check whether the Update Stock button is enabled for the Shopee channel in SiteGiant. If it is disabled, stock changes will not be pushed to Shopee.
  5. Item status set to Out of Stock – If the item status in SiteGiant is set to Out of Stock, the synced stock quantity will show as 0 on Shopee (and other linked channels such as TikTok). Go to the inventory item and change the status back to Available.
  6. Conflict with a third-party app – If another third-party integration (e.g. an ERP or warehouse system) is also adjusting stock on Shopee, it may overwrite the stock synced by SiteGiant. In this case, disable the conflicting third-party app if you want SiteGiant to be the sole source of stock control.
  7. Stock zeroed out after a Shopee campaign ends – When you join a Shopee campaign (e.g. Shocking Sale), Shopee automatically places part of your stock into reserved stock for the campaign. Once the campaign ends, Shopee releases the remaining reserved stock back. However, SiteGiant pulls the latest campaign data every hour, so there may be a short delay before the stock is restored. If you manually adjust stock before the system reverts the campaign stock, your adjustment may be overwritten. Wait for the system to sync first, then perform any manual stock adjustment if needed.

If the issue persists after checking the above, contact SiteGiant Support with your iSKU and the date/time you performed the stock update for further investigation.
