How to set up a new store POS in SiteGiant
Overview
To set up a new store POS in SiteGiant, make sure the staff account has the correct permissions, verify the staff account, assign the POS channel access, and set a POS PIN before logging in.
Set up staff access for POS
1. Add the staff account
Go to Settings > Account and Staff Management and create the staff login if it has not been added yet.
2. Assign the required permissions
Edit the staff role and enable these permissions:
- Products
- Customers
- Settings > Currency & Sales Channels
- Channel Permission > SiteGiantPOS
Save the role after updating the permissions.
3. Verify the staff account
The staff account must be activated through the verification email before it can be used to log in.
Configure the POS user
4. Open the POS store settings
Go to SiteGiantPOS and choose the store outlet you want to use.
5. Set up the POS user
Go to Manage Users > find the staff user > click the user name > set a new POS PIN > make sure the user status is enabled > Save.
6. Log in to the POS app
Log in to the POS app again using the staff account and the POS PIN.
7. If the staff account cannot log in
First log out the account from the POS app and end shift from all devices. Then set a new POS PIN again from SiteGiantPOS > choose the store outlet > Manage Users.
Important notes
- Each POS cashier uses a SiteGiant login account.
- POS staff accounts use your SiteGiant staff headcount.
- If an outlet has multiple cashiers, each cashier needs their own SiteGiant login account.
If products are not showing in POS
If you want POS to follow your webstore products, enable Display Webstore Listing.
If Display Webstore Listing is enabled:
- Products will appear based on the Webstore Listing
- Products must have stock quantity updated
- Product status must be set to Available
- You will not see a separate POS listing while this feature is enabled
If you want to manage a separate POS listing instead, disable Display Webstore Listing.
You can also copy products to POS listing by turning off the related listing option in SiteGiantPOS Product Listing, then use Copy Listing from the webstore listing to POS listing for selected products.
